RSCH 7023 Qualitative Research
This course provides an in-depth exploration of qualitative research methodologies and their application across diverse academic disciplines. Students study various qualitative designs, including ethnography, case study, grounded theory, phenomenology, and narrative research. Emphasis is placed on data collection techniques such as interviews, focus groups, observations, and document analysis, as well as strategies for coding, thematic analysis, and interpreting qualitative data. Ethical considerations and the role of researcher reflexivity are integrated throughout. Through hands-on projects, students develop skills to design, conduct, analyze, and present rigorous qualitative research suitable for scholarly and professional contexts.
