CRJS 2423 Ethics in Criminal Justice

An examination of the ethical foundations of the criminal justice system and moral dilemmas commonly faced within this system. Students will explore theories of ethics, justice, and moral reasoning as they apply to law enforcement, courts, and corrections while learning to evaluate issues such as use of force, discretion, corruption, racial profiling, and accountability. Emphasis is placed on developing ethical decision-making skills rooted in both professional standards and a Christian worldview, promoting integrity, justice, and responsibility in the administration of justice.
