SOSC 3503 Advanced Social Problems
An in-depth examination of complex social issues affecting individuals, families, and communities. Students will analyze the causes, consequences, and potential solutions to critical problems such as poverty, homelessness, systemic racism, mass incarceration, human trafficking, healthcare disparities, and environmental justice. Key topics include sociological theories of social problems, policy analysis, advocacy strategies, and the role of government and nonprofit organizations in addressing systemic inequalities.
