PSYC 3763 Multicultural Counseling
An exploration of the role of culture, identity, and social context in the counseling process. Students will examine how factors such as race, ethnicity, gender, socioeconomic status, religion, disability, and sexual orientation influence mental health, communication, and client-counselor relationships. Students will learn strategies for addressing cultural differences, building inclusive therapeutic relationships, and advocating for social justice in mental health settings as they develop the skills necessary to provide culturally responsive counseling in various professional settings.
