EDUC 3763 Methods of Teaching Elementary School Science

This course provides an overview of methods, materials, and current research for teaching science in elementary schools, focusing on enabling teacher candidates to effectively teach science concepts. Emphasis is on student-centered approaches such as discovery, inquiry, and experimentation. It explores current theories and standards for using science-process skills and various technologies in the classroom. Required for all elementary education teacher candidates. Prerequisite: Acceptance into Lock 1, GPA 2.75.
