NURS 3056 Nursing II
This intermediate nursing course integrates theory, laboratory simulation, and clinical experiences focused on the care of adults experiencing common medical-surgical health alterations. Building upon foundational nursing concepts, students apply knowledge of pathophysiology and pharmacology to assess patients, develop comprehensive nursing care plans, and implement evidence-based interventions. Through laboratory simulation and hands-on practice, students develop advanced psychomotor skills and clinical judgment while participating in realistic patient care scenarios. In supervised clinical settings, students provide direct patient care, refine clinical skills, collaborate with interprofessional teams, and apply the nursing process to manage complex patient needs. Emphasis is placed on critical thinking, patient safety, and achieving quality outcomes for diverse adult populations from a Christian worldview. This course is comprised of 45 hours of lecture instruction, 45 hours of laboratory instruction, and 90 hours of clinical experience.
