This course integrates theory, clinical, and laboratory experiences focused on the nursing care of women during the childbearing years, newborns, and pediatric populations. Emphasis is placed on family-centered care, health promotion, disease prevention, and evidence-based interventions for these populations. Through supervised clinical experiences in hospitals, clinics, and/or community settings, students apply theoretical knowledge, develop specialized clinical skills, and provide holistic nursing care that includes assessment, intervention, and patient and family education from a Christian worldview. This course is comprised of 60 hours of lecture instruction, 45 hours of laboratory instruction, and 135 hours of clinical experience.
