NURS 4623 Ethical and Cultural Considerations in Nursing
This course examines ethical principles and cultural factors that influence professional nursing practice and patient-centered care. Students explore ethical theories and legal responsibilities that guide clinical decision-making and examine how culture, values, beliefs, and social determinants of health affect health behaviors and healthcare outcomes across diverse populations. Through the analysis of ethical dilemmas and culturally complex clinical situations across the lifespan, students develop skills in ethical reasoning, culturally responsive communication, and patient advocacy. Emphasis is placed on promoting equitable, respectful, and culturally congruent nursing care in contemporary healthcare settings from a Christian worldview.
